The introduction of ceramics in my work came as a surprise. Function and the quest for expression through this malleable material has always captured my attention but I’m finding it also leads to a new way to tell stories. I’m constantly humbled by the skills and knowledge needed to “master” this medium, but even as I still hunt for the perfect cup, plate or platter, I can see how this material may be finding its way into my painting process.
